"With all the furor going on surrounding allegations,slurs, recriminations,I have just this brief statement.

"Due in part to the fact there has been no City Council decision on further investigating this issue,combined with the need for confidential ,closed session meetings, I cannot go into detail. However, know that I have broken no laws, violated no ethical standards, and remain stalwart in my zeal to fully serve the citizens of Port Arthur"

"I apologize for any harsh words or stressful situations of inconvenience these events may have cause city staff; know that I appreciate the invaluable service they each give to us all, council and citizens alike."
